Stupid question of the week

8 mars 2010

When I hear an advertising for Coca Cola on my favorite radio… Coca Cola PAID the radio to play the ad. Ok. But when I hear a song from Madonna on my favorite radio… it’s the radio paying !

Why ?

4 minutes of a Madonna song in 2010, that’s an advertising for Madonna’s real business : selling concerts tickets, merchandising, and some CDs.

So, THE RECORD COMPANY SHOULD PAY THE RADIO, and not the other way around.

THINK OUSIDE THE BOX !

It is a protection for the culture, for the diversity, no ?

If record compagnies pay radios, only rich company will have artists on radios. And new artists, from small record companies, independant singers, … they will never have a chance to reach people thought radios.

Culture (music, books, …), even if it is a kind of product, can not be compared with products like… Coca Cola. How we are lucky about this !

The radio is also making money with the record companies songs. The people listen to the radios BECAUSE they are playing Madonna! For the same reason Coca Cola is paying for the advertising…
